SafeCheck – Fire & Fire Extinguisher Training

As defined in section 17.6 of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (COHS), all persons employed by an employer at a workplace should have fire protection equipment training.

A fire tetrahedron is a concept used in training programs and firefighting to represent the four elements required for a fire to occur. The four elements that must be present for a large or small fire are oxygen, heat, fuel, and a chemical reaction. It’s highly recommended to have fire extinguisher training to keep you and others safe. According to section 17.6 of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (COHS), every employee should be instructed and trained in:

• The procedures to be followed in the event of an emergency
• The location, use, and operation of fire protection equipment and emergency equipment provided by the employer.

Having fire and portable fire extinguisher certification can help reduce the impact of a fire and even save lives.

The three primary types of portable fire extinguishers include:

• Water fire extinguisher
• Carbon dioxide fire extinguisher
• Dry chemical fire extinguisher

The course is compatible with computers, tablets, and most smartphones. However, we do not support computers running the Windows 7 Operating System.
